LIGHTS – CAMERA – PRESENT ( 09-13 YEARS )

Are you ready to attend?

Program Overview :

“Effective Communication” as a skill, is the key to an individual’s success in any sphere of life. To that effect, The Foundation has partnered with Joy of Books, a modern technology driven library to build this unique workshop.

We have collaborated and created an activity-driven curriculum to help children learn and experience the power of “Effective & Efficient communication”. We have created a structure where the children internalise the importance of communicating effectively using this niche yet powerful skill – “Public Speaking”.

Children naturally possess these Four (4) qualities :

child qualities
child qualities

child qualities

Where they are bold enough to display their inquisitiveness (C), learn by observing their environment (O) and are very versatile (V) in displaying their knowledge with tremendous enthusiasm(E). They also possess the courage to stand up before a crowd and speak when they are really young. As they grow older, the gating factor that tends to slow them down is the fear of JUDGMENT or BEING JUDGED.

In our workshops, we act as catalysts that enable the children to evolve as confident and effective communicators be it in a public platform or an important conversation. We strive to create a non-judgmental space for them to express their inquisitiveness, ideas, observations with versatility. This workshop is aimed for Teens and Pre-Teens (09-13 years old) children.

Model Of the Workshop :

The workshop consists of Six (6) sessions (Sundays) for about 120 minutes. Post the workshop, one day is reserved for the children to make a presentation in front of their family and friends.

You may ask WHY 120 MINUTES?

In our workshops, we follow the following methodology:

child qualities

Every child gets an opportunity to express themselves in the workshop. The concepts of being an effective communicator and speaker are taught in a more fun filled and activity driven ways for the children to learn and put into practice immediately.

We purposefully make our batch size as Fifteen (15), so that we can focus our attention to each child and ensure that we make them understand the concepts and more importantly apply them.

Post Workshop Connect – Junior Public Speakers Forum

One common question we have is – CAN A CHILD BE AN EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATOR / SPEAKER IN JUST SIX (6) SESSIONS

We hear you loud and clear ☺

This six (6) day workshop helps your children to take the first step in becoming an effective speaker. We believe that skills that taught during the workshop needs to be consistently applied at every opportunity.

Once you apply your skills you will make it a habit! For this reason, we offer a ONE-YEAR POST WORKSHOP CONNECT to the children in the form of “Junior Public Speakers Forum”. This is absolutely FREE of cost for one-full year.

What is Junior Public Speakers Forum?

The “Junior Public Speakers Forum” is an initiative to help workshop participants hone their newly acquired skill sets in a consistent manner. The Forum is a non-judgmental space where the children practice their art and learn to accept and give constructive criticisms to help each other. Moderated by the workshop trainers, this fortnightly meet-up focuses on different topics every time and will have activities that will enhance their communication skills.

What do we do in the Forum?

We would like to cultivate these three attributes in our participants, namely,

  1. Prepare and Perform
  2. Listen and Learn
  3. Reflect and Reform

To enable them to cultivate these, we follow a structure:
Prepare and Perform

  1. Conduct one-hour long virtual meet-ups
  2. Different aspects of Public Speaking will be focused on every month
  3. There will be friendly debates, extempore sessions and fun JAM sessions too

Listen and Learn

  1. 60 mins of focused but fun-based and activity led meet-ups
  2. Children will be inspired by eminent public Speakers either by being present during the meetings or by addressing them via a video/audio message.

Reflect and Reform

  1. Children will be encouraged to give and receive constructive criticisms to become better speakers and to help others become better as well.
  2. This is a non-judgmental space, which encourages even the shyest person to come up and talk in front of the rest of the participants.

With a sustained participation for one whole year after they have gone through our uniquely crafted “Public Speaking for Children” workshop, we believe these children will be confident speakers.
